Fairlane Car Wash, Inc. [III] v. Knight Enterprises, Inc., 2009 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 30541 (E.D. Mich. 3-31-09)

Attorneys' fees were granted pursuant to the PMPA to two plaintiffs who prevailed on their legal claims and were granted $11,800 in damages. Two other plaintiffs prevailed on their legal claims, but were awarded no damages by the jury. The court nevertheless exercised its discretion to award fees to these latter plaintiffs in order to effectuate the PMPA's remedial purpose, and because the claims of all four plaintiffs were litigated together, with little separate work done for any individual plaintiff.
